Dies Following
Long Illness
HOMER — Leslie W. Knapp, 33, of 17 Hudson St., died last night in Cortland Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Cortland March 30, 1940, the son of William and Pauline Craig Knapp, and was a lifetime resident of this area.
Mr. Knapp was employed at Crandall's Truck Equipment Co. in Homer.
Surviving are his widow, Helen Turk Knapp of Homer; his mother, Mrs. Pauline Knapp of Cold Brook Road; two sons, Leslie W. Knapp Jr. of Homer and Gerald Carey of Cortland; five daughters, Brenda, Julie and Lisa Knapp, all of Homer, Mrs. Carol Ostrander of Homer and Mrs. Martin (Terry) Marble of Cortland; two brothers, Morris E. Knapp of Baltimore, N. Y. and William F. Knapp Jr. of Fayetteville, N. C.; one sister, Mrs. Walter (Rose) Alger Sr. of Pine Valley; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Briggs Memorial Home with the Rev. James. H. Russell of the Homer Congregational Church officiating. Interment will be in Cold Brook Valley Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday evening from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
