Arthur Lewis Sackett, son of Mrs. Eva Swan Sackett and the late Albert Sackett, died at a farm home in Gerry Thursday. Mr. Sackett suffered a stroke of paralysis a couple of years ago from which he had not entirely recovered. He was able to be about, however, and while he lived at the Gerry farm he was often in Jamestown.
It is stated that he went to his room Thursday morning and when he was called to dinner did not respond. He was found in his bed apparently resting, but breathing with labor. When a physician reached his side he had passed.
Much of his youth was passed in Randolph, where he was a general favorite; he had been in the security business until depression times, when he took a job in a Jamestown office. He was employed there when he was stricken. Since that time he has been endeavoring to regain health enough to take another job, but was disappointed when he failed to get strong. The funeral was attended Saturday and burial was made in the Swan family lot in Randolph cemetery.
He is survived by his mother and two sisters, who reside in Los Angeles, and one brother in New York.
