Antoinette M. "Toni" Roach, was born February 27, 1944 at Old Cheyenne Agency, SD, to Lydia Hollow Horn and Tony Roach.
She spent her childhood on the Roach property in rural Iron Lightning, SD. Toni attended elementary school at the Iron Lightning Day School and St. Joseph's Indian School, and her high school years at Old Cheyenne Agency and Cheyenne-Eagle Butte.

Toni lived in Washington, California, Texas, Colorado and South Dakota. She worked at various jobs including motel maid, nursing assistant,
restaurant worker and caregiver, and most recently provided day care for her grandchildren. Toni was a caring, loving person and had many
friends in her lifetime.

Toni was blessed with a son, Steve, in 1962, later moving to California where she married Bruce Jacques in San Francisco. In 1975 she became ill and returned home to South Dakota.
In 1986, she met Jake Traversie and spent the rest of her life being his companion and best friend. She raised Jake's daughter, Simone Traversie, and loved being with her grandchildren. Toni loved to have people around her, especially during the holidays. There was always a big meal served to her family, and she invited others to share what she had. She enjoyed seeing her siblings when they came to visit, bringing their children with them. Her nieces and nephews always went out of their way to visit her.

Toni loved to watch the Denver Broncos, whether they won or not. She collected Broncos memorabilia as a hobby, enjoyed going to the casinos once in awhile, going to yard and rummage sales and was always looking for a bargain, especially for her family. She was an active member of the Cheyenne River Kateri Circle, a Catholic national organization. She enjoyed listening to numerous country western singers, including George Strait and Billy Ray Cyrus. She loved her dog Scooby Doo and cat Iggy.
