***** I was in flight school with Ed at Pensacola. He was first signed to be a navigator, but wanted to change to pilot, so I helped him get into shape to pass the physical. We played a lot of pool and had a few beers. His roommate, Porter 'Snake' Pierce flew 87 missions and is still in touch with me, as is my old roommate, Bill Tschudy, POW for nearly 8 years. I wrote two books: "The Faces Behind The Names" about VN casualties. RIP, Ed.
