A Lady always knows when to leave ...
There was only one adjective to describe our kitten, "precious". It became her name. She walked into our lives by just showing up one day (Dec 15, 2001 about 6 months old). She was a kitten and she was not feeling well. She needed a bath and her fur was all matted but she was beautiful with her eyes of blue. She went to the vet alot and she was always fussed over. Repeatedly we heard, "Oh she is so precious".
She tolerated being bathed. She was a fussy eater because her sense of smell was diminished. She loved being held and her fur combed. She loved sitting in the sun.
Precious had an upper respiratory illness that shortened her days to a few years, but she was loved. She taught us how to be a lady, she taught us how to live with dignity and grace.
The night before she died, I checked on her many times. The last time she was laying next to the litter box, oh what a lady. Making it to the box even when she was so weak, after all she was a "lady". She died in the arms of my husband around noon. She was at peace. Yes, a lady always knows when to leave.
We miss you, our precious Precious. Our hearts still ache after all these years.
Please leave a flower for Precious and our other kitten Buddy (2005-2014).
