Frank Sackett, 56, died Monday evening at Glendale, Arizona where he and his wife had lived for the past two and one-half years in the interest of his health. He was a victim of asthma and complications and had suffered from this ailment for about ten years. The body is being returned to Traer where the decedent lived practically all his life.
Frank Sackett, son of William and Leona Sackett was born in Traer in 1886. He attended the Traer high school and grew to manhood here. He was with the A. E. F. in France during the first World War, and a member of Kubik-Finch Post, American Legion. The decedent was married to Annabelle Provan in July, 1924. He was employed here as a mechanic and truck driver as long as his health permitted. Mr. and Mrs. Sackett moved to the dry climate in Arizona in April, 1940.
Surviving are the widow and one sister, Mrs. Chris Hoeppner of Cedar falls. Another sister, Mrs. Lewis peters of Buckingham preceded him in death. William Provan, Mrs. Sackett's brother has wired from Fort Lewis Washington that will be unable to obtain leave to attend the funeral.

The body of Frank Sackett, who died near Phoenix, Arizona, November 2, 1942 arrived in Traer Sunday instead of Saturday as expected. An error by a railroad man in routing the shipment of the body over the wrong railroad delayed arrival here about twenty-four hours. The mix-up was finally straightened out by telegraph. The funeral was at the Diers Funeral Home here on Monday, the service conducted by the Rev. Christian Haupt, pastor of Amity church. Maxine Kanipe sang hymns during the service. Kubik-Finch post, American Legion, of Traer, had charge of the service at the grave in Buckingham cemetery. A Legion firing squad performed the military honors due one who has served his country in the armed forces. Frank Kladivo, post bugler sounded taps. Bearers of the flag draped casket, three of them Legionnaires were H. A Butts, Carl Stouffer, L. B. Caslavka, William Hubacek, L. E. Draper and Harold Parkhouse.
Mr. Sackett was in Arizona about a year and a half for the benefit of his health but he climate did not agree with him. He and his wife made several changes in residence there with no benefit to him. He had been afflicted with asthma and complications many years. The trouble apparently resulted from his army service in World war I. While a soldier he was ill several weeks of acute bronchitis in hospitals in France and in this country after his return from overseas.
