Daughter of O J Lundy and Priscilla Emiline Henderson Lundy. O J Lundy founded the town of Lundy and named the sawmill the William Lundy sawmill for his son William J Lundy. The successful gold mine located above the town of Lundy was named the May Lundy Gold Mine for his daughter May Lundy.

In 1893, in his home city, Fred J. Dow married May Lundy, born in Bakersfield, the daughter of a pioneer family. Their home life has been brightened by the birth of a son, Kenneth L. Dow.

May Lundy Dow is likely the only resident of Fresno that had a successful gold mine named for them.
