James Monroe Clark

Birth: unknown
Death: Aug., 1825, USA

He was the son of Judge Hulet Clark and Mary P. Hallock. I did link him to his father who has a lengthy write-up on FindAGrave. I also discovered that he and 5 siblings all died 1825 from dysentery. Perhaps instead of James Monroe having an individual marker, there might be one marker with six names on it, perhaps J. Clark, or Jas. Clark or J.M. Clark, and given the date of death it could be very hard to read. I wonder if there is a marker in the cemetery that has quite a few names on it? He could have even been known, nothing positive about this, just an idea; by his middle name; so maybe M. Clark or Monroe Clark listed with four, five or six others. His Mother, Mary P. Hallock Clark died several months before six of her children; so perhaps they are all on her marker or nearby. I dont' know.
***********************************************************

I looked for the names of James Monroe Clark and his 5 siblings who all died within 16 days of each other. And all six of them died within one month of their mother dying. I looked at Manning Cemetery where his mother is buried and at Unionville Cemetery where his father is buried and found them with no memorial page on findAGrave for either cemetery, except James Monroe Clark, who I had done a page for. Children were Alfred; Bertha; Samuel J; the James Monroe Clark I just mentioned; Henry Hallock; and Zebulon H. I am guessing the middle initial of "H" on Zebulon was for Hallock (his mother's maiden name), but I don't know that for a fact.

Some accounts say all this happened, the mother and the six chldren in 1825 and some say 1826. I think 1826 in an article I read was a typo. I'm inclined to think 1825. I also think it would be difficult to have a wife and six children all die in the same year, and that perhaps no stone was purchased for all of them, just the mother. Judge Hulet Clark must have been absolutely overcome with grief.
