Fantasy and Science Fiction author and editor and receiver of numerous awards. She created the Darkover series and among many others wrote the highly successful novel "The Mists of Avalon". She also edited the fantasy short story collections "Sword & Sorceress" and "The Marion Zimmer Bradley Fantasy Magazine". Her ashes were to be scattered in Glastonbury Tor, Somerset, England.
