He came to Michigan in his later years, with his wife Louise. His son's David, James and Jules all lived in Cheboygan. Also his daughter Rose.
I have been told his grandmother (Charlotte's mother) was full blooded Cree Indian named Sara Kissakowa. Charlotte's father was Pierre Auger.
Jean Baptiste Gouin Sr. was a voyager and worked for Hudson Bay co as well as Frobisher & Macgillviary. He traveled from Montreal Quebec to Red River Manitoba many times meeting his future wife Charlotte at English River, which is near the area where Jean Baptiste was born in 1819.
