Pooler - Merita D. Alderman, 63, died in Saint Petersburg, Florida on
Thursday, April 22, 2004.

The daughter of the late Nat G. and Dell M. Alderman, long time residents of Morgan Street, Pooler, Georgia, she was born in Savannah, November 1940, and grew up on Morgan Street.

In 1985 she moved to Florida to be near her brother and sister-in-law, Nat and Jan Alderman who are among her survivors. Other survivors include two aunts, Mrs. Virginia Gracen of Pooler, and Mrs. Nell Roach of Savannah; three nieces and two nephews; and some 20 cousins.

While living in Pooler she was active in the Methodist church, and especially enjoyed the music and singing. In loving memory of that spirit and her enjoyment, the family has established a special fund in the Trinity United Methodist Church, PO Box 602, Pooler, GA 31322 to support the Church music program.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations are made to the church for the music program "in memory of Merita Alderman."

Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Monday, April 26th at the funeral home. Graveside funeral services will be 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 27th at Gravel Hill Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 320 Benton Drive, Pooler, Ga. at a later date to be announced.
