Pauline Ruth (Mitcham) Misener, of Jefferson, died Friday, April 8, 2016, at home surrounded by her family, ending a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Born Jan. 21, 1921, in Kingsville Twp., to Perry and Amelia (Fassett) Mitcham, she celebrated her 95th birthday on Jan. 21st.

Pauline, known to most in her later years as Grandma, enjoyed gardening and crocheting, and over the years made all kinds of blankets and hand towels for her family. A 25-year member of the Jefferson Garden Club, she was a pro at making prize-winning flower arrangements.

She was seamstress, sewing intricate flower girl dresses and also worked at a few local companies before ending her career at Sanborn Wire. Pauline was a quick-witted and spunky woman who loved to crack jokes and catch people off guard.

She is survived by her four children, Kenneth (Josephine) Misener of Ashtabual, Marilyn Crabtree of Jefferson, and Barb (Howard) Christ and Ginger Nelson, both of Ashtabula; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 10 siblings, Henry Mitcham, Francis Mitcham, Robert Mitcham, Blanche Champlin, Alice Fink, Lena Hare, Mable Mitcham, Esther Younker, Jenny Ann Smith and Genive Mitcham; and her grandson, Mike Misener.
