Deceased Name: Jesse Belcher

GERBER -- Services for Jesse Monroe Belcher, 86, of Gerber will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Hoyt-Cole Chapel of the Flowers in Red Bluff.

Visitation will be from -- to -- p.m. today at the chapel.

Burial will be at Tehama Cemetery in Tehama.

Mr. Belcher died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, at SunBridge Care Center in Red Bluff.

Born Dec. 29, 1916, in Oden, Ark., he moved to Gerber in 1955 from Las Flores.

He was -- logger-catskinner for 21 years, -- U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, an employee of California Department of Transportation and -- lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1932 in Red Bluff.

Survivors include wife Virginia; sons Jerry of St. Helens, Ore., and Jim of Winlock, Wash.; sister Pauline Cartwright of Paradise; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Hoyt-Cole Chapel of the Flowers.
