Oldest Resident Succumbs Sun. -

Mrs. Mary Borre, 90, one of Wolbach's oldest residents passed away Sunday afternoon about 5 o'clock at the home of her daughter-in-law and son, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Borre, with whom she had been living for the past three months. she had been in ill health for about a year and critically ill the past week.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Lutheran Church with Pastor Ernest Switzer officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery.

Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Anne Brockway of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Walter Johnson of Omaha, Mrs. Rose Hutchinson of Lincoln, Mrs. Harold Neumann and Mrs. A. G. Nealon, both of Wolbach; two sons, Alfred of Omaha and William of Wolbach.

Mary Borre, 90 Laid to Rest Wed--

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock at the Trinity Lutheran Church last Wednesday afternoon, March 2nd, for Mrs. Mary Borre, 90, who is believed to be Wolbach's oldest resident. Pastor Ernest Switzer officiated with the McIntyre-Jacobsen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Donald Borre, Wayne Borre, Orville Hutchinson, LeRoy Neumann, Kenneth Martin and Eugene Martin.

Mrs. Kenneth Studley and Mrs. Gordon Wagner sang the hymns "The Beautiful Garden of Prayer" and "Abide With Me." Mrs. Clarence Thayer was the pianist.
Mary Borre was born in Sjalland, Denmark on July 2nd, 1864 and passed away at Wolbach at the age of 90 years, 7 months and 25 days.

She was the daughter of Andreas and Marie Peterson and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith while in her childhood. When 15 years of age she came to America with her parents and lived near Lincoln.

She was married to Christen Borre at Bennett, Nebraska on April 4, 1884, to which union 9 children were born: Carrie, William, Rose, Anna, Frances, Alfred, Mable, John and Lula. They lived in the vicinity of Bennett for about 4 years. In 1888 they moved to Colorado where they settled on a homestead. During their stay in Colorado they endured many hardships which may be well recalled by those of the pioneer days. In the year 1907 they decided to move back to Nebraska and settle on a farm 5 miles southeast of Wolbach where they lived 11 years. In 1918 they took up residence in Wolbach where she spent the remainder of her days.

She was very loyal and devoted to her family and enjoyed her many friends.

In her passing she leaves to mourn her departure 7 children, Alfred Borre and Mrs. Frances Johnson of Omaha; Mrs. Rose Hutchinson of Lincoln; Mrs. Anna Brockway of Los Angeles, California, who due to illness in the family was unable to attend, Mrs. Mabel Neumann of Cushing, Nebraska; and William Borre and Mrs. Lula Nealon of Wolbach, Nebraska. 20 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Christen and one son, John and a daughter, Carrie.

Attending the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Johnson, Mr. Orville Hutchinson, Mr. Alfred Borre and Mr. Don Borre, Omaha;Mr. Wayne Borre, Fremont; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Martin and daughters, Mr. Earl Martin, Mr. Nels Jensen, Mrs. Charles Hutchinson, Mr. and Mrs. Art Pine and Mary, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pine, Mrs. Carol Masters and Mrs. Anna Petersen, Lincoln; Mrs Hans Fredricksen and Ellis, Giltner; Mr. Duane Timmons, Cairo, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Diese and sons, Gothenburg; Mrs. Wanda Nelson, Mrs. George Kamper and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Petersen, Grand Island.
