Lillian Mary Tidnam was the youngest child of Frederick Hazeltine and Mary Charlotte Alford Tidnam and the only one the the children to be born in The United States. Her father had come over to work with Thomas Edison. We think she was named Lillian after the actress, Lily Langtry, whom her mother admired greatly. Her mother brought a favorite picture of Lily Langtry with her when the family moved from England. The picture is still in the family.
Lillian was a dancer and in some silent films. We have some publicity stills. She danced for Anna Pavlova and was encouraged by her to stay with dancing.
