Thurston H. McIntosh, 81, of One Park Place, Owensboro, died Monday, April 8, 1996, at Leisure Years Nursing Home, Owensboro. He was born in Millers Creek and had worked in Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois as a self-employed oil well shooter for more than 35 years. He was a member and deacon at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Owensboro Rifle and Pistol Club.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Hula Rhea McIntosh; a stepson, Jerry Shown of Owensboro; three stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; three nieces; and a nephew.
Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home, Owensboro. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after noon Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, 101 Sanders Brown Building, University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY 40536-0230. Memorial contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.
