Mrs Ben Prosser Answers Final Summons
Final Rites Held October 12, From Baptist Church
Adda Belle Strode, daughter of John Nelson and Susan Strode, was born in Springfield, Illinois, March 19th, 1865 and passed away at the McNulty Nursing Home in Smith Center, October 10th, 1950 at the age of eighty-five years, six months and twenty-one days.
When a young girl, she came to Smith county where she spent the greatest part of her life.
December 25th, 1891, she was untied in marriage to Benjamin Prosser. To this union three sons were born; Robert, dying in infancy; Edward E. of Athol; and William Lee of Topeka, Kansas. She became a Christian early in life and later in life became a member of the Baptist Church in Smith Center unto which she was faithful until her strength failed her. She also a devoted mother and faithful friend to all.
Preceding her death are her husband, two brothers, Henry and Robert; and one sister Mrs Nellie Frost. She leave to mourn her death, two sons, Edward E. Prosser of Athol; William Lee Prosser of Topeka; one sister, Mrs Annie Allen; one half-sister Arrena Hammond of Smith Center; seven grandchildren, six great greandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted from the Baptist Church in Smith Center, Thursday, October 12th, at 2 o'clock with Rev F.W. Vorphal at charge. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
Note; I was told that McNulty Nursing Home was a private residence home and it is no longer existed.
