Tillie Thurman was the son of Val and Rachel Focha Bible. He was a Army Mechanic in WWI. Survived by wife, Bedia Smith Bible; sons, Carson, Carl, and Jackie Bible; daughters, Hazel Henderson and Helen Russell; brothers, Ernest and Odie Bible; sister, Mrs. Vell Neal.

Member of the American Expeditionary Force (AEF) in World War I and was in the battles of the Saint Die Sector (Lorraine) from 10/1/1918 to 10/20/1918, Verdun Sector from 11/6/1918 to 11/11/1918 including the Meuse Argonne Offensive from 11/9/1918 to 11/11/1918. He joined the US Army at Greeneville, Tennessee September 20, 1917 and was with the AEF from 7/31/1918 until 6/20/1919 and was discharged June 27, 1919 at Fort Oglethorpe Georgia. He was a Mechanic in Mechanic Company A of the 318th Machine Gun Battalion. He was born in Willow Springs, Missouri.
