Brighton neighborhood activist
Alice F. Galloway, an active community leader in Boston and Brighton, died Thursday in her Brighton home, She was 72.
Born in Boston, Mrs. Galloway was a 1939 graduate of Brighton High School.
A dedicated neighborhood activist, Mrs. Galloway was on the board of directors of the Brighton YMCA, the Brighton Senior Center, Boston Aid to the Blind, and the Allston-Brighton Tenants Association.
She was also a member of the Brighton Board of Trade, coordinator of the farmer's Market Program and grand marshal of the Allston-Brighton Parade.
She leaves two daughters, Barbara Jones of Salem and Beverly Blaine-Yoerger of Falmouth; one son, William Blaine Jr. of Framingham; two sisters, Elizabeth Nauta of Cambridge and Mary McCauley of Texas; and 10 grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be said at 11:00 A.M. tomorrow in St. Gabriel's Church in Brighton. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Brighton
