Joseph Charles "Joby" Howard
Birth: Oct. 1, 1939
Saint Louis
St. Louis City
Missouri, USA
Death: Jun. 10, 1984
St. Louis City
Missouri, USA

Joby was the son of Joe and Peg Howard of St. Louis. He has one brother, Tim, who arrived in 1949. An Army Vet from the Viet Nam war, Joby was stationed in Germany. Joby was loved by all his friends and family. Joby is my brother and will live on in thoughts and memories forever.

Joby had 1 son, Joseph Timothy Howard (Joey)

All families have good and bad times, whatever happened to Joby's family is known only to the Lord and Joey. Joby and his wife were divorced and Joby was living alone.

Peggy used to tell a story about Joby. There was a knock on the door one afternoon. The Catholic Archbishop of St. Louis, Archbiship Ritter, was at the door. He had walked Joby home to tell Peggy he caught Joby swinging out over Lindell Blvd on the corner Flagpole. He thought Mrs. Howard should know. That was Joby!

Joby, was taken suddenly by the Lord.

His son would have no further contact with his Grandmother or his Uncle Tim. Grandma Peg tried to offer love but she was ignored by Joey. Never to hear from him again.

Joey is long gone and way over being missed and not considered family as I am quite sure I am not his family. He remains Tims last remaining blood relative, he can never take that away. He is stuck being a Howard! Like it or not!
Never understood why we were so disliked.

Whatever happened is history and Joby will always be loved by Tim.

A member of the family never mentioned is Katie Johnson. Katie helped raise Joby and Timmy. Even when there was no money, Katie still came every day. Katie made wonderful ham and beans. When Katie's husband "Slim" died, she brought Joby and Timmy to the funeral and feast. We were her boys. It was so cool. Everyone loved on us so much. Slim was a chef on the Missouri Pacific Railroad. Katie was a true sweetheart and belongs with the Howard Family. If Joby's son, Joey, ever reads this, Katie was a part of your Fathers life.

Too bad Joey, you never knew your Uncle Tim.

Thanks to Jami for providing pictures of Joby's grave site at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
