Sigurd Jarl Larson, 85, 332 V2 N. Whitford, died Saturday, March 24, at Lake Region Hospital. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, at Zion Lutheran Church of Fergus Falls. Rev. James Armstrong will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery, Fergus Falls.
The son of Matinus and Martha Larson, he was born Jan. 21,1899, in Oslo, Norway. When he was a child, his family came to America and settled on a farm in Kansas, near Scan-dia.
After his marriage to Olga Ness on June 29,1929, at MaddoCk N.D., they farmed for awhile near Maddock and later he worked at the Maddock Creamery. He moved to Fergus Falls in the fall of 1947, at which time, he became a cement mason for Ted Schoening. He continued to work for Schoening until his retirement. His wife died on July 2,1959, as a result of an automobile accident.
On June 10, 1962, he married Gudrun Nyhus at his daughter's residence in Erhard.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife Gudrun; three daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Donna) Johnson, Pelican Rapids, Mrs. Gerald (Shirley) Prove, Buffalo, and Mrs. Arvid (Connie) Honrud, Farmington; four sons, Ordean and Warren, both of Maywood, Calif., Donald of Coon Rapids, and Wallace of Milwaukee, Wis.; 24 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.
Visitation will be all day Tuesday at Olson Funeral Home of Fergus Falls and resume at the church one hour prior to services Wednesday.
