MINSTER, June 8 - Solemn requiem high mass will be sung in St. Augustine's Catholic church at 9 a.m. Friday for John M. Prenger, 89, lifetime community resident, who died at his home, three and a half miles northeast of Minster, at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Otto Mueller will be celebrant of the mass. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.
Mr. Prenger was born near here Oct. 23, 1859. He married Katherine Winner May 30, 1883, and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1933. Mrs. Prenger died in February, 1944.
Surviving are five children, Mrs. Anna Baumer, McCartyville; Mrs. Catherine Lagedrost, Dayton; Mrs. Cecilia Meyer, McCartyville; William Prenger, Egypt, and John Jr., at home; a brother, Anthony Prenger, Minster; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Heitman, Mrs. Anna Schmitmeyer and Mrs. Agnes Reithman, McCartyville; 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Prenger was a member of the Holy Name and St. Augustine societies of the churdh. The body was removed to the residence from the N. J. Hogenkamp Sons funeral home.
