Pearl Fern Raver, daughter of Edward L. and M. Nita Raver was born May 28, 1908 in Sumner, Washington and died in a hospital in Omaha, May 17, 1925, at the age of sixteen years, eleven months and nineteen days.
In the year 1909 she moved with her parents, to Craig, Nebr. After several years in that vicinity the family moved to Blair. About three years ago they moved to a farm near Herman where they have resided since. After several attacks of the appendicitis, Miss Raver was taken to Omaha May 11 for an operation. For a few days following, she seemed to be making progress toward recovery, but on Saturday she became worse and grew steadily so until Sunday morning when she passed away at 1:15.
At the age of thirteen, while living in Blair, she gave her heart to Christ and joined the Methodist church at that place. All who knew Fern found her living the life she professed. She was on a kind, loving disposition, a favorite at home and in her school life she was a very faithful student. She was loved by both her teachers and her schoolmates. Her friends numbered by the score.
She leaves to mourn her loss her parents; four sisters, Lucile, Leona, Nadine and Edith; three brothers, Donald, Vangyle and William Gregg, all at home. One sister died in infancy. She also leaves several aunts, uncles and other relatives, besides a host of loving friends. The funeral was held at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment was made in the Craig cemetery.
