Mrs. Hoffman died Monday, Aug. 5, 1996, at Trinity Medical Center, East Campus, Moline.
The former Merry Beatty was born Feb. 12, 1935, in Iowa City, the daughter of Don and Norma White Beatty. She married Carl Hoffman May 22, 1954, Iowa City.
Mrs. Hoffman was a homemaker.
She was a member of Ladies of the Elks, Rock Island Lodge 980, BPOE and Rock Island County Farm Bureau Home Extension.
She enjoyed ceramics and was a master in crocheting.
Survivors include the widower; a son, Douglas Hoffman, East Moline; three grandchildren; and a sister, Marjorie Miles, Bettendorf.
