George W. Nofflett, for many years a resident of Windsor but for the last 30 years a resident of Mattoon, died at his home in Mattoon early Tuesday morning, Feb. 10. Mr. Nofflett was born on Nov. 26, 1850, in Petersburg, IN, a son of Mr. and Mrs. James Nofflett. He was a plasterer by trade and did much work in Windsor. Mr. Nofflet married Miss Louisa J. Storm of Ash Grove, Feb. 19, 1873. She passed away a few years later. On Jul. 24, 1881, he married Miss Sarah H. Gladman of Windsor who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Agnes Bedford of Villa Park, a suburb of Chicago, a child of the first marriage; and two sons and two daughters, Charles W. Nofflet of Hammond, IN, Mrs. Gladys Malone of El Paso, TX, Boyne Nofflett of Chicago, and Mrs. Fleta Cooper of Villa Park, children of the second marriage. Mrs. Josie E. Cale of Shelbyville is a half-sister. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Mattoon Thursday afternoon with the pastor, Rev. T. B. Lugg, officiating. Interment was in Dodge Grove Cemetery, Mattoon. Many friends from in and near Windsor were in attendance at the services. Windsor Gazette - 13 Feb 1931
