Rada Mae Leeson Abels died at age 78 at the St. Joseph Hospital In St Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri due to pneumonitis (had for 3 days prior to her death), pyleonephritis (kidney infection), and she also had siginficant history of Organic Brain Syndrome (now called dementia). She was Born February 1, 1897 in Missouri City, Fort Bend, Texas. She was the daughter of George William Leeson and Cynthia Mae Massie Leeson. She had 11 siblings: James William Leeson (1894-1971), Charles Leeson (1896-1925), James Leeson, (1898-?), Zella Massie Leeson (1900-1903), Harry T. Leeson (1900-1939), George "Archie" Leeson (1903-1977), Harry T. Leeson (1903-1939), Carl G. Leeson (1910-1990), Leroy "Roy" D. Leeson, Dorothy Leeson (1916-?), and Thomas Leeson (1921-2004).
She married Thomas George Abels on April 10, 1919 at the age of 22. To their union they had seven children: Thomas George Abels (1887-1972), Virginia May Abels Mitchell Miller Keiling (1920-1973), Ida Naomi Ables (1921-2001), Florida Lee Abels (1922-2006), Mary Edith Abels (1924-2010), Rachel Elizabeth Abels (1927-1999), and William T. Ables (1929-1999).
She was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is buried next to her husband at the City of Savannah Cemetery, Andrew County.
