A right-handed pitcher, he was undefeated in four years playing for his hometown Boscabel High School, but did not break into the majors until he was almost 30. Clark debuted with the Boston Red Sox on April 17, 1945, and played his one ML season with that team. Four of his nine starts were complete games, including one shutout, and he went 4-4 with an ERA of 3.47. He also beat Bob Feller and the Cleveland Indians 2 to 1 in Fenway Park in Boston. Over the course of his career he pitched for three Hall of Fame managers, Joe Cronin, Billy Herman, and Roger Hornsby. He later worked in sales. At the time of his death at the age of 95, Clark was one of the oldest living former Major League baseball players. (bio by: Steven Tynan)
