Obiturary: Abram W. Gallentine was born in Fayette county Pennsylvania, September 16, 1831, and died May 16, 1907, at Rockport, Texas, aged seventy-six years and 8 months. He was married in Pennsylvania December 2, 1854 to Miss Mary Miller. In 1885 they moved to Nemaha county Kansas, and two years later to Decatur county, where he has since resided, with the exception of a few months spent in Texas, in hopes of benefiting his declining health. The widow and eight children, and many other relatives and friends are left to mourn is passing away. Father Gallentine belonged to the Church of God for the past 39 years, and said to his wife a few days before his death, "I'm going to leave you, but I am ready to go," and began singing most happily, "Over the Ocean." Father Gallentine will be most sadly missed.
