Marvin E. Chestnut -JUNCTION CITY - Funeral services for Marvin E. Chestnut, 77, of Junction City, will be held on Friday at 10A.M. in the Chapel of Goddard - McLeighton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Chestnut Family Cemetery. Mr. Chestnut passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at his residence. He was a native of Colquitt County but had lived in Taylor County since 1974. He was a member of Horeb Baptist Church, was an Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict, was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a retired truck driver. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Audie Chestnut; son, Robert Miles Chestnut; daughter, Cynthia Chestnut Hays; grandson, Edward Lavelle Stevens; brother, Billy Ray Chestnut; and sisters, Florence Wood, Dorothy Norman, Pauline Chestnut and Fannie Will Hinton. -Survivors include Lois Christine Chestnut of Junction City; his daughters, Sandra Carter Gee of Lawrenceville, Barbara Chestnut Reeves of Junction City, currently of El Dorado, Kansas, Betty Jo Caldwell of Helen; son, Michael Anthony Chestnut of Butler; one brother, Grady Chestnut of Butler; one sister, Lucille Pettigrew of Tomball, Texas; nineteen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. -Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. -You may sign the online guest register at www.goddardmcleighton.com -The family of Marvin E.
