Charles Nelson North was the son of German North 1828 and Edula. His parent were living in Marshan, Dakota County, Minnesota in 1860. His mother Edula died about 1865, after which his father German returned with the family (children Horace, Clara, and Charles) to Oswego County, where the family was living in 1850. His father German married Mary E by 1870 and lived in Richmond, Oswego County.
According to his obituary, Charles moved to Oneida, Madison County, New York about 1887 (at the age of 24). He married Maude E Garlock in the early 1890's by the age of their son Louis G born in 1893. The couple lived in Oneida, Madison County, the remainder of their lives. Besides Louis, they may have had one other child who died before 1910 (by 1910 census).
Their son Louis married Minnie Pearl Haynes and lived in Onedia and Madison county all of his life, two children.
Burial and Grave Marker:
Cemetery records show Charles Nelson North is buried in this cemetery, but there is no grave marker.
Possible Errors in Obituary or Cemetery Records:
The obituary shows his parents as Horace and Lucinda North. The gravestone or cemetery records show a birth date of 1856. Further research shows these are incorrect. The date of birth of 1863 correlates more closely with census records. His obituary states he has a niece Nellie Lothridge. Nellie was the daughter of Clara North, the daughter of German and Edula. Charles had a brother Horace. Charles went by the name of Nelson shown in earlier census.
