| Birth: | Aug. 4, 1818 | | Death: | Nov. 25, 1886 |  Civil War Union Army Officer. He was commissioned as Captain and commander of Company C, 3rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry on August 1, 1861. Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel on November 20, 1862, he eventually assumed command of the regiment, and led it until his enlistment expired and he was honorably mustered out on August 24, 1864. He had received a commission of Colonel, but it was not acted upon before he left the service.
