Mr. Fugate was born Feb. 12, 1897, in Stultz, Mo. He lived in Missouri where he was a rural school teacher and then a watchmaker in the cities of Houston, Mo., Bremerton, Wenatchee and Spokane. Mr. Fugate was a member of the First Methodist Church of Wenatchee, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Wenatchee and the Barnes Masonic Lodge in Cabool, Mo. He served in France in the U.S. Army during World War I.
He is survived by two sons, Robert B. Fugate of Marysville and James P. Fugate of Auburn; a daughter, Bettie Landers of Ojai,Calif.; 17 grandchildren; and 15, great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 am Friday at Wenatchee Cemetery in Wenatchee. Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Local arrangements are by Price-Helton Funeral Home in Auburn.
