Mrs. Ada Catherine Kerby, 66, Route 1, Waynesboro, died at 2 a.m. today at the Waynesboro Community Hospital where she was a patient since Aug. 29.
Born June 17, 1894, in Crimora, Mrs. Kerby was a daughter of the late Elias and Salome Rife Kennedy. She was the widow of John Claude Kerby. Mrs. Kerby was a member of Crimora Methodist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Claude E. Kerby, Eugene R. Kerby, Guy S. Kerby and Clarence L. Kerby, all of Waynesboro; three daughters, Mrs. Robin (Vera) Coiner, Waynesboro; Mrs. Herschel (Doris) Watt, Weaversville, N. C., and Mrs. Carl (Elsie) Thompson, Crimora, five sisters, Mrs. Guy (Nora) Cullen and MRs. John (Lillie) Brown, both of Waynesboro; Mrs. William (Becky) Meeks and Mrs. Annie Morris, both of Crimora; and Mrs. Austin (Clara) Michael, Maryland; one brother, J. Bowman Kennedy, Crimora; and 21 grandchildren.
Body will remain at the McDow-Tyree Funeral Home and will be placed in the Zion Lutheran Church one hour prior to the funeral service. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. MOnday by the Rev. James Powell and the Rev. C. M. Huddle. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the McDow-Tyree Funeral Home form 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
Active pallbearers wil be D. B. Hull, Earl Via, Michael Coiner, John Dooms, Albert Dooms and Walter Swartzel.
Honorary bearers will be Ray Swartzel, Charles Shiflett, Horace Crissman, Floyd Dooms, Hubert Dooms, Paul Kiracofe, Conrad Wright, Earl Wine, Oren Burkholder, Hugh Coper and Dr. Beverly J. Loesch.
