Henrietta Aurelia Baker was the daughter of Joseph Thomas Baker 1796–1870 and Laney Louvie Griffin 1796–1887 of Lowndesville, Abbeville Co, SC.

Nettie was married 14 Dec 1852 to Thomas Springer Bronston Jr (1817-1890) of Richmond, KY.

Tom Bronston was the the son of Jacob Bronston & Nancy Hollyman of Lexington. Thomas Springer Bronston Sr & Lucy Clark of Richmond, KY were his guardians after his father's death in 1832.

Henrietta's elder brother Dr James E Baker had married into the Bronston family a few years earlier when he married Samira Bronston, daughter of Thomas Springer Bronston, Sr.

Nettie was the mother of ten of Tom's twelve children:
