Funeral services for Mr. Olide G. Leger, 82 were held at 4 p.m. Monday in St. John Berchman Catholic Church here with burial in the church cemetery.

The Rev. Charles Mallet, pastor, conducted the services.

Mr. Leger, A native and life-long resident of Sunset, died at 9:40 p.m. Saturday in Acadia-St. Landry Guest House in Church Point.

He was retired owner and operator of Leger's Grocery & Meat Market in Sunset for many years. Mr. Leger was a member of the Sunset Volunteer Fire Department and the Sunset Lions Club.

Survivors include; his wife, the former Elise Leger of Sunset; a son, Hypolite Leger of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Ethel Mae) Johnson of Higginbotham and Mrs. Francis Burnet (Norma Jean) Richar of Opelousas; two brothers, Isaac Leger of Lafayette and Tanise Leger of Duson; a sister, Mrs. Lydia Lavergne of Laport, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro, Louisiana was in charge of arrangements.
