Dona Allen 1957 ~ 2010
Dona was born on September 20, 1957 to Norman and Sarah Allen.She left us to begin her new adventure on Sunday, August 22 in Lakewood, WA to join her beloved pets. Dona was the youngest of five children and loved her time growing up in Bountiful, Utah.
Dona started showing horses at the age of eight winning numerous state and regional awards. Dona was also an accomplished swimmer where she won many national titles in synchronized swimming. She graduated from Viewmont High School and then Weber State University where she received her BS in Computer Science, and graduated Cum Laude. Dona worked as a Manager for Unisys in Salt Lake City for 18 years where she made many lifelong friends.
She left Utah and family to start a new journey in Washington State where she worked for Intel in numerous positions and made friends around the world. She loved traveling, scuba diving, entertaining family and friends, animals, hiking, camping, boating, and jewelry. All though she never married or had children of her own she considered her niece and great nieces her own.
She leaves behind her sister Norma Boyce, her brothers Ken Allen and Randy Allen, her niece Susann Eaton, her nephews Richard Boyce and Justin Allen, and her grand nieces, Taylor and Cheyanne Eaton. At her request no memorial service was held just a celebration of her life which that was held on Saturday, September 4th at her home in Lakewood, WA.
