Miss Emma Holder, died at 1:30 a.m. today in a Rome hospital. She resided at 103 East 6th Ave. Miss Holder had been in declining health for several weeks. Her death followed an attack suffered a few moments earlier.
Miss Holder was born in Floyd County on December 24, 1879. She was a daughter of the late G. B. and Penelope Swords Holder. She received her education in the public and private schools of Floyd County and for a number of years was active in the civic and political affairs of Floyd County. For more than 40 years, she served as clerk of the Floyd County Board of Roads and Revenue. She attended the First Church of Christ, Scientist.
Surviving are one sister. Mrs. Wyatt Foster and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Floyd Roebuck will officiate.
The body will remain at Stevens-Davenport Funeral Home and the family will be at the residence.
