Terell Philip was born on July 14,2001 in Estevan to Phil and Tanya Amosah.
He immediately captured the hearts of many people with his big brown eyes, deep dimples, and abundance of hair! Before he was 3, he made daily trips to the Bow Manor Motor Hotel with his Mom for coffee, enjoying the attention he received from the staff.
At 3 Terell went to playschool. Here he met very patient teachers, and many of his future classmates who accepted Terell even with his differences. For Kindergarten Terell attended the Glenn McGuire School in Oxbow and soon figured out how to wrap his teachers around his fingers, especially his education assistant and new friend Granny Franny. In Grade One Terell spent the first half in creating friendships with his classmates at the Oxbow Elementary School. Here too he touched the hearts of his teachers. It was during that winter when Terell was diagnosed with Battens Disease. With his life changing, he still managed to meet and make new friends on Piediatric Ward at the Regina General Hospital, while he was a patient for a 2 month stretch.
After only a short time at home Terell became a resident at the Galloway Health Center. The staff soon became a part of Terell's family. It is there that he passed away peacefully with his Dad and Mom by his side on Saturday, June 13, 2009.
He was predeceased by his great grandfather Otto Kohle; grandfather Benjamin Amosah and special great-great uncle Bernie Renneberg.
Terell is survived by his parents Phil & Tanya Amosah; brother Deon and sister Cadence all of Oxbow; grandparents: Brenda Bender of Regina, Dennis Medernach of Saskatoon and Brenda Medernach of Bienfait; great grandparents: Art (Jean) Bender of Avonlea, SK., Henry (Martha) Medernach of Saskatoon and Marie Kohle of Saskatoon; 3 aunts: Manuela Amosah of Carnduff, Rebekah Amosah of Regina and Jara (Trevor) Sawatsky of Oxbow; uncle Derek Medernach of Estevan; cousin Austin Sawatsky; great-great aunt Dorothy Renneberg of Oxbow; special friend granny Franny Folkerts.
