Edward was born in Harrison Co. VA (now WV). Edward married Celina/Salina Ann Shinn on July 4, 1847 in Harrison Co. VA (now WV). "Edward and Salina Ann and their children moved by covered wagon from West Virginia to Iowa and settled near Des Moines sometime after their son James was born in 1852.
Edward enlisted for service in the Civil War Nov 5, 1862 for three years. He was a private in Co C Regt of Iowa Cavalry Volunteers. Discharged Nov 6, 1865, at Fort Leavenworth KS. When enlisted he was 36 yrs old, 5' 10" tall, fair complexion, black eyes and dark hair.
Salina Ann died when their youngest child, Isabell, was a baby, possibly when she was born. Edward and Salina's children were: Arrena E., b. 1848; Jacob T. b. 1849; Mary E. b. 1851; James W. b 1852; Hannah b. abt 1857; Luther b. 1859; Allen b. 1860 and Isabell, b. 1861.
Edwards's second wife was ADALINE MAY GLENN. They were married Jan 7, 1868, possibly in Adair Co. IA. Their children were: William H.; Frances N; Emma Olive; EdnaMay; John W; Clarence A.; Mary M.; and Peter A."
