Death: unknown

The many friends of Rural Carrier Adin Philbrick are made sad by the serious accident which befell him on Wednesday. As is his custom he stopped at the Fairgrounds to eat his lunch and feed his horse. When he removed the bridle the horse bolted and Mr. Philbrick gamely tried to hold him by his mane. Just what happened is not clear, but when he discovered later he appeared to be paralyzed, though clearheaded and able to talk. The injury appears to be at the back of his neck and until the X-ray examination is made its exact nature will not be known. In the meantime it is hoped that the trouble will prove curable. >The Plymouth Record, May 3, 1919, p6.

Adin married, on December 31, 1875, Aura M. Wakefield. He was prominent in local grange circles years ago, and was Plymouth's first rural mail carrier.
