ANTON F. BLOCKI

BLOCKI – Dr. Anton F. Blocki, died Sunday morning, Mch. 7, 1904, at his home, 1129 N. Fifth street, of a disease of the liver from which he had suffered for some time past, though he had been confined to the house only about two weeks. He underwent an operation for piles week before last, but the more serious trouble seemed to be with his liver. Saturday last he was taken with a severe spell of hiccoughing and this no doubt hastened his death.

Anton F. Blocki was born in this city and would have been thirty-five years old had he lived until the 20th of next month. He was a graduate of the Sheboygan High School and of Rush Medical College Chicago, completing his course in the latter institution in 1892, since which time he has practiced his profession in this city with marked success. He was a man of exemplary character and stood well both as a member of the medical profession and as a citizen. His future was full of promise and the news of his untimely death was learned with deep regret by the entire community.

He had served the city officially as health officer since 1901 and gave much time and study to subjects tending to improve and maintain the public health. He was a worthy member of the Masonic Order also of the Benevolent Order of Elks. He is survived by one sister, Miss Hattie Blocki; two brothers, Frank and Herbert and his father, Frank Blocki, Sr., who is an old resident of the city. The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon and was under the auspices of the Masonic Order. Interment was in Wildwood cemetery.
