Daniel married Martha "Marcie" Richardson (1848-1933) about 1864.

Martha Richardson was Daniel's first cousin.

One of the 'Seven Devils'~

Family lore contends that Daniel was struck by a train while inebriated and walking along track. He left a 36 year old widow with several children to raise alone.
