Third and youngest son and heir to Thomas Shiercliffe and Mary Pawson.

Husband of Mary Wilson, daughter of Thomas Wilson of Oughtibridge-Hall and descendant of the Wilsons of Broomhead. They were married about 1636 and had five children:
* Nicholas Shiercliffe 1650-1685, married Mary Ibbotson
* Nathaniel Shiercliffe 1652-1729, married Catherine Gower
* Samuel Shiercliffe, died by 1696
* John Shiercliffe 1660-1713, unmarried
* Hannah Shiercliffe 1658-1680, unmarried

A yeoman and royalist, and in the last years of his life, a lieutenant of on the the trained bands to keep the peace during the reign of Charles II. The fireback in the wall of what is now the bar area of Whitley was placed in the hall in 1660, the same year Charles II was restored as king, and during Thomas's occupation of Whitley Hall.

Buried in the south chancel floor of St Mary's. Thomas left all his property of his son, Nicholas.
