LEWIS D. "LOUIE" JENKINS, age 83, of Lewisburg, OH, died Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at the VA Medical Center in Dayton. Born on May 24, 1927 in Portsmouth, OH, he was the son of the late Clarence & Edna E. (Jenkins) Jenkins. Louie retired in 1990 after 40 years as a tool and die maker for Laughter Corp in Dayton. He served in the U.S.M.C. during WW II, member of Libanus Lodge #80 in Lewisburg, Antioch Shrine in Dayton, Scottish Rite – Valley of Dayton, Ideal Chapter #293 Order of Eastern Star, First United Church of Christ and American Legion - Paul Sodders Post, Lewisburg.

Preceded in death by Grandson: Todd Alan Jenkins; Son-in-law: Russell Brown; Sisters: Helen B. Salyers and Nettie Howard.

Survived by Wife of 63 years: M. Louise (Meenach) Jenkins; Children: Lewis D. "Danny" (Judy) Jenkins, Jr., Greenfield, IN, Sandra Kay (Larry) Byrd, Stigler, OK, Kathy D. Brown, Lewisburg, OH, David R. (Debra) Jenkins, Kodak, TN, James Michael (Laura) Jenkins, Springfield, OH, Tracy L. (Chad) Woodworth, Lewisburg, OH; Sisters: Loraine McCormick, Ludlow Falls, OH and Betty Secrest, Englewood, OH; 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 N. Commerce St., Lewisburg, OH with Rev. David O. Justis officiating. Interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg with military honors by the Troy V.F.W. Post # 5436. Family will receive friends on Friday, October 15, 2010 from 4 – 7 P.M. at the funeral home with Masonic Service at 6:30 P.M.
