Roy Ellsworth Loucks was born March 12, 1909 in Okobojo, South Dakota. "At the age of two, his family moved to Grove Springs, Mo. where he grew up and attended school. His father died in 1925 and in 1928 his family moved to Marsing (Idaho. His sister lived in Idaho.) He lived in the area for several years doing farm work. In 1936 he purchased property and started farming his own land. On August 4, 1946 he married Eleanor Webb in Nampa (Idaho). They made their home on his farm. He was a member of the Nazarene church in Marsing, past president of the Farm Bureau Organization of Marsing and a member of the Owyhee County Farm Board.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Loucks, Marsing; a son, Leslie Loucks, Marsing, a brother, Ralph Loucks, Boise, two sisters, Mrs. Maud Bohannon, Smelterville and Mrs Alice Stilson, Boise; and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Roy who died Friday evening of an apparent heart attack at his home will be conducted at 2pm Wednesday at the Nazarene church in Marsing with the Rev. W.L. Robertson, pastor of the Nazarene Church of Marsing and the Rev. Omar E. Barnhouse, pastor of the Franklin Road church of the Nazarene of Nampa, officiating. Services are under the direction of Home dale Flahiff Chapel . Interment will follow at the Marsing-Homedale Cemetery." Obituary copy taken from Idaho Statesman?
