A funeral for Arminta L. Lien of Dayton will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell.

The funeral home will be open for visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today.

Mrs. Lien died March 11, 2002, in St. Vincent Hospital, Portland. She was 85.

She was born Jan. 16, 1917, in Rulo, Neb., the daughter of Arch and Mary E. Mather Johnson. She was raised in the Rulo-Beatrice area in Nebraska.

She and Jack Overgard were married in Nebraska.

The couple later divorced. She moved to Oregon in 1947, settling in Dayton.

She and Wayne Lien were married July 26, 1949, in Stevenson, Wash.

The couple lived in Dayton. Mrs. Lien owned the Dayton Cafe from 1963 to 1966. She volunteered as a Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed needlework, gardening and reading. She liked spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband; six daughters, Carol Jensen, Debra Lien and Pam McBride, all of Dayton, Joan Berry of Newberg, Judy Groth of Keizer and Janet Clevenger of Sisters; a son, Jerry Overgard of Salem; two brothers, Kenneth Johnson of Beatrice, and Virgil Johnson of Odell, Neb.; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jack Overgard; three brothers, Jerome Johnson, Archie Johnson and Forest Johnson; a sister, Zeal Weideman; and four grandchildren.
