Death of Benjamen Ludeman

Benjamen Ludeman was born in Germany September 23, 1842 and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs Ernest Schacht of Farmer on Friday, April 5. He came to the United States in 1856 and resided near Minonk, Illinois, He was married October 23, 1864 to Miss Grace Seggerman of the same place. To this union six children were born, all of whom survive him. In the spring of 1889 they immigrated to this state and settled on a farm eighteen miles east of Waterville, near Farmer post office, where they resided until the spring of 1908 when they retired from the farm and moved to Waterville. They resided here until Mrs Ludeman's death, which occured October 2, 1909, since which time the deceased has made his home with his daughter, Mrs Ernest Schacht, of Farmer.

At an early age in life, he united with the Church of God, of which he was a member until his death.

The funeral was held on Sunday, April 7, Elder A.L. Corbaley having charge of the services, and the interment was made in the Farmer cemetery, by the side of his wife.

He was well and favorably known throughout the county, being one of the early pioneers of this section. He was a kind and helpful neighbor and a devoted husband and father. He leaves to mourn his loss their three sons and three daughters: Hieko and Dick Ludeman of Farmer; Henry Ludeman of Thomas, Wash.; Mrs R.H. Brownfield of Seattle, Wash.; Mrs F.M. Alexander of Mt Vernon and Mrs E.W. Schacht of Farmer.
