Guy H. Quick, 90, died at 8:05 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Merriam, Kansas.

He was born on May 4, 1920, in Crawfordsville, Ind., the son of Guy H. Sr. and Helen (Eltzroth) Quick.

He married the former Martha M. March on Nov. 6, 1942, at Camp Rucker, Ala. She preceded him in death on July 27, 2007.

Guy began his service to his country during World War II in the Army and retired after 21 years of service as a lieutenant colonel.

He is survived by a daughter and her husband, Jeanie and Dan Murphy of Shawnee, Kan., and two sons, Jeffry and his spouse, Randi Ross-Quick, of Plano, Texas, and Guy H. Quick III of Livonia, Mich.; and a grandson, Alex Niedt of Shawnee.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.

Burial will be at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.

Memorials may be made to the veterans' organization of your choice.
