Lieutenant colonel of the New Jersey Militia in 1776 becoming a colonel in 1781. Member of the Continental Congress from 1778 to 1779. Killed while resisting an invading party of the British Army on October 16, 1781 at Blacks Point, near Shrewsbury, Monmouth County, New Jersey. (bio by: Robert)
