Civil War Union Brevet Brigadier General. He served during the Civil War as Colonel and commander of the 21st Connecticut Volunteer Infantry. He was mortally wounded while bringing ammunition to Petersburg, Virginia on May 26, 1864, and died 10 days later. (bio by: Ethan F. Bishop)
